Backend Engineer – Core Systems

About the role

In this position, you will be responsible for developing and improving the core banking systems that handle accounts and transactions for millions of customers. You will work with a tech stack that includes Kotlin, Spring Boot, and AWS, and have the opportunity to shape the future of the company’s banking services.

You will collaborate with a cross-functional team, driving your own priorities and tackling complex banking domain challenges. The role emphasizes a high degree of autonomy and encourages proactive problem-solving, allowing you to make significant contributions to the team and the company's growth.

The salary range for this role is between $65,000 and $95,000, reflecting the responsibilities and required skills.

• Kotlin: You will primarily use Kotlin to develop backend services.

• Kubernetes: Kubernetes is employed for container orchestration in the cloud environment.
• Kafka: Kafka is utilized for managing event-driven systems.
• Postgres: You will work with Postgres as the preferred relational database.

• Solid grasp of microservice architecture
• Comfortable with relational databases, Postgres preferred
• Experience operating in a modern cloud environment, ideally AWS and Kubernetes
• Full professional proficiency in English
• Nice to have:
• Event-driven systems with Kafka
• Payments, ledgers, or other banking/fintech domain experience
