About the role

As Engineering Manager for the ZEOS Portal, you will lead a team responsible for developing a unified B2B interface. This portal serves as the primary access point for partners to manage their operations within the Zalando ecosystem. Your work will involve defining the technical strategy for both frontend and backend components, aiming for a scalable and modular architecture.

A key aspect of this role is people leadership. You will be responsible for hiring and developing a diverse team of 10 engineers, split evenly between frontend and backend specializations. This includes fostering agile practices and ensuring smooth delivery of features. You will also collaborate closely with Product and UX Design leads to bridge design concepts with engineering execution.

Success in this position means taking full ownership of the portal's infrastructure, services, and operational health. This includes ensuring stability for both frontend and backend systems and guiding architectural decisions, particularly concerning micro frontends. Your focus will be on delivering a high-performance, intuitive user experience for Zalando's partners.

The annual salary for this full-time position ranges from $110,000 to $165,000 USD.

• Lead Full-Stack Strategy: Help shape a scalable and modular portal architecture across both frontend and backend layers.
• Empower and Grow Talent: Hire and develop a diverse team of 10 engineers (5 frontend, 5 backend).
