About the role

This role focuses on increasing trading volume by understanding institutional clients' liquidity needs and offering execution services. The Sales Trader will provide real-time support and market color, identifying how high-touch and low-touch services can best serve clients. Success in this position means consistently meeting client needs and effectively communicating market insights.

A key part of the work involves building and maintaining trusted relationships with institutional clients through quality execution and daily market updates. The Sales Trader will collaborate with internal Sales, Financing, and Account Management teams to onboard new clients and identify business opportunities across Coinbase's product suite. This requires proactive engagement and a deep understanding of client requirements.

The role also involves providing structured client feedback to Product Managers, which helps guide new product development in spot trading and financing. Maintaining a real-time pulse on market sentiment and trading activity is crucial, as this information supports strategic decision-making within relevant internal teams. The annual base salary for this position ranges from $157,590 to $185,400 USD, with the exact amount varying by location.

• Build and maintain trusted counterparty relationships through quality execution, daily market updates on liquidity and flow thematics, and consistent, high-quality service delivery.
• Partner with Sales, Financing, and Account Management teams to identify, onboard, and monetize new client relationships, proactively surfacing business opportunities across Coinbase's institutional product suite.
• Provide structured feedback from clients and the broader marketplace to institutional Product Managers, guiding new product development across spot trading and financing.
• Maintain a real-time pulse on market sentiment, trading activity, and client positioning, keeping relevant internal teams informed to support strategic decision-making.

• 3+ years of sales and/or trading experience in digital assets, FX, equities, credit, or derivatives at a top-tier institution, with direct experience in daily execution and settlement functions.
• Strong options trading capability, including pricing, hedging, and risk-managing vanilla and/or exotic structures, with fluency in Greeks, volatility dynamics, and options market microstructure.
• Proven ability to build and maintain counterparty relationships with institutional clients, translating market insight into trusted, high-value interactions.
• Experience producing institutional-grade market commentary or client communications covering macro, crypto, or digital asset themes.
• Weekend availability required - this role operates on a schedule that includes Saturday and Sunday as working days.
• Utilizes generative AI responsibly, maintaining human oversight to deliver business-ready outputs and drive measurable improvements in workflow efficiency, cost, and quality.

• Base salary varies by location (see range below). Total compensation may also include equity and bonus eligibility, and benefits (medical, dental, vision, 401(k)). Annual base salary range (excluding equity and bonus): $157,590—$185,400 USD.
