About the role

This role involves a dual focus on automated and manual testing for Wallet, a digital asset solution embedded within Telegram. The SDET will develop and maintain automated tests, primarily using Python, to enhance test coverage and ensure reliable software releases. A key part of the work includes performing manual testing for new features and validating the P2P marketplace, focusing on orders, transaction processing, and user payment flows.

The position requires ensuring the correctness, stability, and security of user transactions, as well as verifying implementations against design mockups to maintain UI/UX consistency. The SDET will also be responsible for identifying, logging, and analyzing bugs, providing clear steps for reproduction, assessing impact, and detailing environmental factors. This includes creating and maintaining regression test cases and expanding automated test coverage.

Success in this role means contributing to a high-quality user experience by collaborating with design teams and triaging user reports effectively. The SDET will proactively hunt for vulnerabilities and potential abuse vectors, working with the team to design and verify protective controls. A strong product-focused mindset and attention to user impact are essential for thriving in this rapidly growing environment.

The salary for this position ranges from $85,000 to $185,500 USD annually.

• Experience testing cross-platform applications and mini-apps.

• Experience in manual testing, including test case creation, execution, and defect tracking.
• Experience collaborating with Customer Support teams to triage, prioritize, and resolve user-reported issues.
• Ability to validate implementations against design mockups and work closely with Design teams to ensure UI/UX consistency.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
