Senior Python Developer

About the role

This role centers on developing and optimizing critical trading infrastructure. You will work on building a backtest optimization service and a new tool for configuring the trading system, focusing on speed, reliability, and scalability. A key part of the job involves automating analytical and trading tasks, as well as integrating external data sources to support automated system management.

The position also requires maintaining and enhancing the current production codebase, which includes Python and Bash scripts. You will be responsible for improving the trading system's infrastructure by migrating certain business logic from C++ to Python. Monitoring system performance and resolving code-related issues are ongoing responsibilities, alongside identifying and implementing system enhancements.

Success in this role means contributing to a more efficient and scalable trading system. This involves not only developing new features but also ensuring the stability and performance of existing systems. The work directly impacts business operations, and you will collaborate closely with founders within a flat organizational structure.

The salary for this position ranges from $80,000 to $130,000 USD annually, with additional exceptional bonuses.

• BS/MS in Computer Science or a related STEM field, with equivalent practical experience
• Python expert with deep knowledge of its submodules, along with exceptional debugging and analytical skills
• Extensive experience with Linux, including Bash and understanding of Linux server architecture and operations
• Proficiency in task distribution, scheduling, MPQ, and developing scalable RESTful services with Python
• Experience with running profilers, debuggers, and performing general troubleshooting and debugging tasks
• Ability to analyze and optimize the performance of data queries, jobs, and pipelines, identifying and resolving bottlenecks
• Strong knowledge of Docker and version control systems like Git
