AI Engineer (m/f/d)

About the role

This role focuses on developing BIT Capital's AI capabilities, specifically with large language models (LLMs) and agentic AI. The work involves designing and implementing pipelines that convert text and data into actionable investment signals, such as scores, alerts, and insights. A key aspect is building and refining the agentic systems that power the company's financial intelligence platform, Aion.

The engineer will also be responsible for creating integrations that provide these AI agents with secure and efficient access to BIT Capital's data and functionalities. This includes establishing robust LLMOps practices to ensure the reliability and scalability of these systems. The position requires a commitment to continuous learning and bringing new AI techniques into production.

Success in this role means delivering reliable, scalable AI solutions that contribute to investment signal generation. This involves a strong focus on production discipline for probabilistic systems, including developing evaluations, regression tests, and monitoring tools. The ideal candidate will have a solid data science and engineering background, coupled with an interest in investing.

The full-time position offers a salary range between $65,000 and $95,000 USD.

Responsibilities

• Design and ship LLM-based extraction pipelines that turn text and data into investment scores, alerts, signals, and insights.
• Build and evolve the agentic systems that power Aion.
• Build the integrations that give agents performant, safe access to BIT's data and capabilities.
• Build automated and human-in-the-loop evaluations, regression tests, and monitoring.
• Establish LLMOps practices that keep these systems reliable at scale.
• Stay at the frontier of LLM and agentic AI techniques and bring new ideas into production.

Requirements

• Solid data science and engineering background, with at least 2 years building software, data systems, or ML in production.
• Experience with leading agentic systems (Claude Code, Anthropic Managed Agents, Codex).
• Strong Python and SQL skills with clean engineering practices.
• Cloud infrastructure experience (AWS strongly preferred).
• Production discipline for probabilistic systems: evaluations, regression tests, monitoring, reproducibility, and cost awareness.
• Genuine interest in investing or a strong drive to learn about the domain quickly.
