About the role

This internship focuses on the practical application of AI, specifically in designing and developing AI agent workflows and components powered by large language models (LLMs). The work involves building and testing various elements such as prompt strategies, retrieval flows, and tool-use logic, alongside orchestrating patterns and integrating them into backend systems. A key aspect of the role is to contribute to the performance improvement of these systems across several metrics, including quality, latency, reliability, safety, and cost.

The intern will also be responsible for assisting in defining evaluation metrics, running benchmarks, and analyzing failure cases to ensure robust system performance. Collaboration is central to this role, as the intern will work with engineers and cross-functional teams to understand the lifecycle of production AI systems, from design to deployment and ongoing improvement. The annual salary for this internship ranges from $98,000 to $162,000.
