Role in brief
Notion is looking for an Accounting Manager to take charge of month-end close operations and improve general ledger processes. This role involves using AI tools to enhance accuracy and efficiency, leading cross-functional projects, and mentoring junior team members. Candidates with a strong background in US GAAP, multi-currency accounting, and process improvement in a fast-paced environment should apply.
About the role
This role involves full ownership of key aspects of the month-end close, including specific general ledger areas, intercompany transactions, and allocations. The manager will ensure thorough documentation, implement strict controls, and establish a reliable review schedule for the team. A significant part of the work will involve using AI tools to improve the quality of the close process, such as identifying issues earlier, refining flux and variance analyses, and developing checklists and control documentation.
The Accounting Manager will lead various cross-functional initiatives, including system implementations, process improvements, audits, and setting up new entities. This requires clear timelines, defined milestones, and consistent communication with stakeholders. The role also includes mentoring junior team members by setting clear goals, providing regular feedback, and investing in their professional development as the team expands.
Collaboration is central to this position, as the manager will partner with teams such as FP&A, Tax, Treasury, Payroll, and Accounts Payable to advance accounting projects. The role supports business reporting needs, covering both recurring management reports and ad hoc analyses. The manager is expected to identify opportunities for process improvement and automation, and to implement operational rigor to make the close and reporting processes more scalable, audit-ready, and prepared for the company's future growth.
The estimated base salary for this role ranges from $157,000 to $180,000 per year.
