Key Responsibilities

Trading Operations & Settlements

  • Oversee end-to-end execution of crypto trade operations, including order management, confirmations, and post-trade reconciliation.
  • Manage settlement processes across centralized exchanges and on-chain venues, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Coordinate with trading and treasury/finance teams to monitor intraday positions/funding and resolve settlement breaks or discrepancies.
  • Build and maintain operational SOPs and SLAs for crypto trade lifecycle management.

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Partner with Compliance and Legal teams to ensure crypto operations adhere to applicable AML/KYC regulations, travel rule requirements, and internal policy.
  • Conduct and document risk assessments for new counterparties, blockchains, and operational processes.
  • Maintain operational controls and audit trails required for regulatory reporting and internal audits.
  • Stay current on evolving crypto regulation (SEC, CFTC, FinCEN, and international equivalents) and assess operational impact proactively.

Team Leadership & Stakeholder Management

  • Lead and develop a small crypto operations team (2 - 4 Associates in the future horizon), providing coaching, task delegation, and performance oversight.
  • Act as a primary point of contact for internal stakeholders including Trading, Products, Finance, Technology, and Compliance.
  • Represent Crypto Operations in cross-functional projects including new product launches, system implementations, and regulatory initiatives.
  • Prepare management reporting on operational KPIs, risk exposures, and incident summaries.

Custody & Wallet Management

  • Manage relationships with institutional custody providers (e.g., Fireblocks, BitGo, Anchorage) and oversee wallet architecture for hot, warm, and cold storage.
  • Enforce key management policies, multi-sig authorization workflows, and access controls in line with institutional security standards.
  • Monitor blockchain transactions, gas fees, and on-chain activity to support efficient fund movement.
  • Maintain up-to-date asset support across custody infrastructure as new tokens and chains are onboard.

Required Qualifications

  • 5 years of operations experience within financial services, with at least 2 - 3 years directly in crypto or digital asset operations.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience with institutional custody platforms and exchange connectivity.
  • Solid understanding of blockchain fundamentals across major L1/L2 networks (Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, etc.).
  • Working knowledge of AML/KYC requirements and financial compliance frameworks as applied to digital assets.
  • Experience with trade reconciliation, settlement workflows, and operational controls in a regulated environment.
  • Proven ability to lead small teams and manage cross-functional relationships.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to operate within regulated environments.
