The Enterprise Technology Engineer will operate within BP's central technology organization, which is responsible for all software and platform development across the company's diverse business units, from energy production to customer delivery. The team encourages adapting quickly by utilizing native AWS and Azure services, including serverless architectures, and empowers engineers to select appropriate technologies for specific problems, fostering continuous learning and development.

Key responsibilities include designing and documenting software, implementing robust code, and ensuring test automation through unit and integration testing. The role also involves collaborating with internal and external teams to launch new platforms, enhancing software frameworks, participating in code reviews, and working with cross-functional groups to resolve platform-related issues. A strong understanding of security, privacy, monitoring, logging, and alarming for production systems is essential.

The salary for this full-time remote position in India ranges from $18,000 to $35,000 USD.

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Computer Information Systems or equivalent work experience
• Competent in the ability to adapt to new technologies and processes, and be able to work independently and as part of a team
• Competent in problem-solving, with the ability to analyze complex problems, identify root causes and develop creative and effective solutions
• Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate with your peers through to leaders. You should be able to engage and influence others to collect requirements, describe what you’re doing, work through problems, and find productive solutions
• Self-starter, able to handle ambiguity, navigate uncertainty, identify risks, and find the right people and tools to get the job done
• Minimum 4-7 years of experience in software development, with a focus on platform or service engineering
• Competent in software engineering practices & best practices for full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, continuous deployments, testing, and operations
• Competent in designing and building complex software systems end-to-end which have been optimally delivered and operated in production. You should understand security and privacy standard methodologies as well as how to accurately supervise, log, and alarm production systems
