Frontend Engineer (Design core team)

About the role

This role involves hands-on development of reusable UI components that will be integrated across all company products. The Frontend Engineer will be responsible for the entire lifecycle of these components, from initial creation to ongoing maintenance and evolution. This work is central to establishing a cohesive and efficient user experience across CoinsPaid's offerings.

A key aspect of this position is owning and developing the company-wide UI design system and its core UI Kit. This includes defining and enforcing UI engineering best practices and coding standards. The engineer will act as a technical reference for UI-related topics, influencing the visual and functional aspects of applications and supporting the integration of the UI Kit into various products.

Success in this role means ensuring UI quality, consistency, and reusability across all applications. This requires close collaboration with designers on the design system's evolution and active participation in code reviews for shared UI codebases. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a proactive, ownership-driven mindset, capable of working independently to solve complex UI challenges.

The annual salary for this role ranges from $55,000 to $85,000 USD.

General expertise

• 5+ years of experience as a Frontend Engineer (JavaScript, React)
• Strong hands-on experience with the React 18+ ecosystem
• Excellent JavaScript knowledge (ES6/ES7)
• Solid experience building responsive web applications for desktop and mobile browsers (HTML, CSS, React, Material UI)
• Awareness of cross-browser compatibility issues and client-side performance considerations
• Experience working in an Agile environment
• Good level of spoken and written English and Russian

Design systems, UI architecture & component-driven development

• Proven experience building and maintaining design systems at scale
• Deep understanding of component-driven development (Storybook, MDX, visual testing)
• Strong knowledge of design tokens, theming, and scalable UI architecture
• Experience working closely with designers (Figma, design handoff, design tokens synchronization)
• Passion for UI quality, consistency, and reusable component development
• Experience integrating a shared UI Kit into multiple applications and teams

• Deep understanding and practical experience in software testing (unit, UI, integration, component tests)
• Proactive mindset and willingness to take ownership of the UI design system
