About the role

This role focuses on the operation, scaling, and security of production systems for a company that provides identity solutions. The work involves managing cloud-native infrastructure, primarily with Kubernetes, and using Infrastructure as Code principles. A key aspect is ensuring reliability, observability, and automation across all environments.

The Senior DevOps Engineer will be responsible for building and maintaining Terraform and Helm Charts to ensure consistency. This includes developing fast and secure CI/CD pipelines to streamline the deployment process. The role also involves leading incident response, conducting post-incident learning, and implementing durable fixes.

Success in this position means improving monitoring and alerting systems to reduce noise and enhance signal detection, thereby minimizing on-call burnout. It also requires collaborating with security teams to implement controls that meet audit requirements without hindering development velocity, and continuously improving the developer experience through automation and documentation.

The salary for this position ranges from $98,000 to $162,000 annually.

Skills that matter here

From the employer

What You’ll Own & Drive

  • Production Kubernetes: Operate, scale, and evolve cloud-native infrastructure with a strong bias toward reliability, observability, and automation.
  • Infrastructure as Code: Build and maintain Terraform and Helm Charts with real depth, driving consistency and repeatability across environments.
  • CI/CD at Scale: Implement and maintain pipelines that are fast, secure, and developer-friendly, shortening the path from merge to deploy.
  • Incident Response & Root Cause: Lead incidents when they hit, run blameless post-incident learning, and ship the durable fix - not just the patch.
  • Observability That Earns Trust: Improve monitoring and alerting to cut noise, surface real signal, and reduce on-call burnout.
  • Pragmatic Security & Compliance: Partner with security to implement controls that hold up to audit without crippling velocity, keeping secrets management, access controls, and network boundaries sane and defensible.
  • Developer Experience: Treat operational pain as a bug. Automate, document, and pave the road for the engineers shipping on top of your platform.
  • On-Call Ownership: Participate in the team’s weekly 24x7 rotation (handoff Mondays ~11am PT). Respond promptly, escalate cleanly, and own customer-impacting issues through to resolution.

Your Background

  • Experience implementing and maintaining CI/CD systems at scale.
