Role in brief

Coinbase seeks a Senior Manager for Strategic Operations to lead physical security strategy and operations. This role involves defining and tracking key metrics, managing budgets, and driving cross-functional initiatives. Candidates should have extensive experience in strategy, operations, or risk management within tech, security, or financial services, with a focus on physical security.

About the role

This role focuses on strategic operations within Coinbase's physical security domain. The Senior Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing the strategic roadmap, including quarterly and annual planning cycles. This involves aligning physical security initiatives with broader company objectives and translating these efforts into measurable business outcomes and risk-adjusted investments, which will be reflected in enterprise dashboards.

A core part of the job involves building scalable operational systems. This includes creating reporting structures, service catalogs, and governance frameworks to provide clear visibility into risk, incidents, and capacity for executive leadership. The manager will also evaluate the risk and return of the physical security portfolio, guiding decisions on headcount, budget, and vendor relationships with clear recommendations for scaling or stopping initiatives.

Success in this position means driving the execution of complex, multi-region initiatives in collaboration with other Security & Privacy programs and stakeholders. The role also requires identifying and integrating AI and automation solutions to streamline processes, reduce manual effort, and enhance operational leverage within the physical security function. The ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences is crucial.

The listed salary range for this position is between $112,000 and $188,000 USD, with additional compensation potentially including equity, bonuses, and benefits.
