Role in brief
Coinbase seeks a Senior Compensation Business Partner to manage executive compensation, develop AI strategies for the compensation function, and advise senior leaders. This role requires extensive experience in executive compensation, strong analytical skills, and the ability to operate independently in a fast-paced, remote environment. Ideal for a professional who can translate complex pay scenarios into clear recommendations.
About the role
This role involves owning executive compensation processes for senior leaders, including offer generation, long-term incentive design, and preparing materials for the Compensation Committee. The successful candidate will collaborate with legal, finance, and external advisors to ensure alignment with company strategy and regulatory requirements. A key aspect is translating intricate pay scenarios and program trade-offs into clear narratives that facilitate executive decision-making in an asynchronous work setting.
The position also functions as a dedicated compensation business partner, providing concise recommendations to senior executives across various groups like G&A and Product. This requires influencing without direct authority and delivering difficult messages clearly. The individual will be responsible for shaping executive compensation program design, including proxy considerations, scenario modeling, and structuring long-term incentives.
A significant part of this role is leading AI strategy and transformation within the compensation function. This involves identifying, designing, and deploying AI-enabled workflows and agents to enhance benchmarking, scenario modeling, and stakeholder communications. The ideal candidate will use generative AI responsibly, ensuring human oversight while driving measurable improvements in efficiency, cost, and quality of compensation processes.
The annual base salary for this position ranges from $98,000 to $162,000 USD, with total compensation potentially including equity and bonus eligibility.
