Staff Development Experience Engineer
Role in brief
Galaxydigitalservices seeks a Staff Development Experience Engineer to lead CI/CD, GitOps, and Kubernetes platform initiatives. This senior role focuses on standardizing developer workflows and improving platform reliability. Ideal for experienced platform or SRE engineers with strong technical leadership and hands-on AWS and on-prem infrastructure skills.
About the role
This Staff Development Experience Engineer role at Galaxydigitalservices involves leading efforts to enhance the developer experience, focusing on CI/CD, GitOps, and Kubernetes. The position requires setting technical direction, breaking down roadmaps, and guiding engineers through the design and implementation of new initiatives. Key responsibilities include standardizing build, test, and release workflows using Jenkins and GitHub, operating and evolving Flux-based GitOps for environment management, and defining Helm chart standards.
The role also encompasses designing Kubernetes platform guardrails and multi-tenant patterns on EKS, while supporting other distributions. A significant aspect is building consistent developer workflows across AWS and on-premise data centers, ensuring seamless connectivity and artifact flows. The engineer will establish SLOs for platform services, integrate observability tools, and embed security and compliance into pipelines, including security scanning and policy-as-code.
Success in this position means enabling development teams through high-quality documentation, examples, and templates, as well as providing support through office hours. The engineer will partner with security, SRE, and product teams, communicating technical trade-offs and progress to leadership. A forward-thinking approach to leveraging AI tools for productivity and decision-making in daily work is also expected.
The salary for this role ranges from $112,000 to $188,000 USD, in addition to a discretionary bonus.
