The Head of Communications will be responsible for company-wide internal and executive communications, collaborating with existing teams, especially for sensitive, regulated topics and major company milestones. This individual will act as a trusted advisor to the CEO and the executive team, providing strategic recommendations and decision-ready options for communications. The role also involves utilizing AI tools to enhance content development, research, and measurement efforts.
Success in this role means effectively directing and coordinating external agencies, advisors, and cross-functional partners to ensure high-quality, consistent communications across different regions and time zones. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in senior communications leadership, with significant experience in technology, fintech, or financial services, and a deep understanding of various communication sub-functions.
The salary for this position ranges from $202,000 to $232,050 annually.

What you’ll do
- Define and execute a long-term, global communications strategy that integrates executive, corporate, policy, internal, and product narratives into a coherent story for Paxos.
- Lead media and press relations, including proactive storytelling and responsive reputation management, to return Paxos to a strong presence in key financial and crypto outlets.
- Own company-wide internal and executive communications in partnership with existing internal comms and marketing, especially around high-stakes, regulated topics and major company milestones.
- Serve as a trusted advisor and thought partner to the CEO & the executive team, shaping narratives, recommendations, and decision-ready options on communications strategy and execution.
- Use AI tools and systems to increase leverage in content development, research, and measurement.
- Direct and coordinate external agencies, advisors, and cross-functional partners to deliver high-quality, on-message communications across regions and time zones.
About you
- 12+ years in communications with experience in senior leadership roles, including meaningful time in tech, fintech, or financial services; experience in crypto and blockchain preferred but not required.
- Deep experience across multiple comms sub-functions (executive, corporate, policy/regulatory, internal, product), with clear depth in at least one and comfort overseeing all.
- Proven ability to manage press and media relations and to define and execute plans that re-establish a company’s brand in key media and industry forums.
- Track record of partnering closely with C-level leaders as a trusted extension of their voice.
- Experience at fintech companies or banks, ideally with the last several years at a crypto-native or crypto-forward company.
- Strong, existing relationships or demonstrable ability to build relationships with relevant finance/crypto reporters and outlets; ability to operate across US and international markets.
- Confident, extroverted, humble personality with strong discussion and recommendation skills.
