About the role
As a Legal Counsel at Btse, you will lead the application process for various financial licenses globally, including VASP and MiCA. You will be responsible for monitoring and analyzing global crypto regulations, providing insights to the executive team to ensure compliance.
You will work closely with the Compliance team to translate regulatory requirements into operational policies. Success in this role requires a proactive approach to risk management and the ability to manage complex projects while collaborating with team members.
The salary range for this role is between $112,000 and $188,000, reflecting the competitive compensation in the fintech and crypto sectors.

- Lead and project-manage applications for VASP, MiCA, MSB, and other regional financial licenses globally.
- Monitor, analyze, and brief the executive team on shifting global crypto regulations (e.g., SEC, CFTC, FCA, MAS developments).
- Partner closely with the Compliance team to translate regulatory requirements into concrete operational policies and audit-ready workflows.

- Experience: At least 3 years of experience specializing in financial regulation.
- Deep knowledge of crypto regulatory frameworks, traditional fintech structures, or payment service laws.
- Exceptional relationship-building skills for interacting with regulators, meticulous attention to detail, and a proactive approach to risk management.
- Hands on at work and can be independent in managing complex projects whilst still working as part of a team.
- Great communication skills in both English and Chinese.
