Product Designer

About the role

This Product Designer role at Ramp involves end-to-end ownership of product work. You will collaborate with product managers and engineers to define problems, explore and validate solutions, and ship product experiences that influence customer behavior. The focus is on delivering tangible outcomes rather than just design artifacts, ensuring designs are integrated and iterated upon post-launch.

Design at Ramp is characterized by an AI-first and builder-led approach. You will be expected to leverage AI tools such as Claude from the initial stages to clarify intent, draft product requirement documents, and identify risks. This initial AI-driven work helps align teams quickly. The role also involves using AI tools like Cursor and Claude Code for prototyping and iterating on flows and interfaces, guiding the AI in generating code while you focus on structure, behavior, and user experience quality.

Success in this position means translating validated concepts into Figma for comprehensive state coverage, system alignment, and production readiness. You will design for the 80/20 rule, embedding complexity behind the scenes to maintain a simple and effective experience for most users. Additionally, you will contribute to the design organization by sharing prompts, patterns, and learnings, and participating in reviews to elevate design quality.

The salary for this position is 172,000 USD annually.

What You’ll Do

What You Need

• Experience as a product designer working on complex products, ideally in B2B, fintech, or other systems-heavy environments.
• Ownership of projects from problem definition through launch and iteration.
• Active use of LLMs such as Claude or ChatGPT in your design workflow.
• Comfort working in tools like Cursor or Claude Code, even if you are not writing production code by hand.
• A portfolio that shows strong product thinking, interaction design, and craft.
• Ability to work with PMs to define success metrics and adjust based on results.
• Clear communication and comfort collaborating directly with engineers and PMs.
