Senior Site Reliability Engineer, Workforce Identity

This role focuses on the end-to-end reliability and availability of corporate Identity and Access Management (IAM) systems. The engineer will be responsible for incident response, root cause analysis, and blameless retrospectives to maintain continuous uptime for essential identity services. A key part of the work involves building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and automation tools to streamline platform deployments and reduce manual tasks.

The Senior SRE will act as a subject matter expert, partnering with IT, Security, and Engineering teams on IAM and DevOps tooling. This includes advising on identity lifecycle, provisioning, Single Sign-On (SSO), Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), and access control architecture. The role also involves improving observability and disaster recovery for IAM systems by defining metrics, implementing monitoring, and designing recovery strategies to meet strict service level agreements.

Success in this position means strengthening documentation standards through comprehensive runbooks, system configuration guides, and troubleshooting procedures for the identity platform. The ideal candidate will have a background in site reliability or infrastructure engineering with hands-on experience in enterprise-scale IAM platforms and a track record of building tools to solve identity-specific problems. Proficiency in programming and managing cloud environments with infrastructure-as-code is also required.

The base salary for this role ranges from $112,000 to $188,000 USD annually, with the exact amount varying by location.

• Partner with IT, Security, and Engineering teams as a subject matter expert on corporate IAM and DevOps tooling, advising on identity lifecycle, provisioning, SSO, MFA, and access control architecture.
• Drive observability and disaster recovery maturity across IAM systems by defining metrics, implementing monitoring solutions, and designing recovery strategies that meet strict SLA requirements.

• 5+ years of experience in site reliability engineering or infrastructure engineering, with hands-on ownership of identity and access management platforms (Okta, Duo, Auth0, EntraID, Ping, or similar).
• Demonstrated success building tooling that solves IAM-specific problems including identity lifecycle and provisioning, SSO, MFA, and ABAC/RBAC at enterprise scale.
• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (Go, Python, Ruby, Java, or C#) and experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Git-based workflows and IaC tools (Terraform or equivalent).
• Track record managing cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure) with infrastructure-as-code, including container orchestration and automated deployment frameworks.
• Utilizes generative AI responsibly, maintaining human oversight to deliver business-ready outputs and drive measurable improvements in workflow efficiency, cost, and quality.

• Base salary varies by location, with an annual range of $112,000 - $188,000 USD.
