Role in brief
Circle is seeking a Business Development Director to expand USDC adoption within capital markets, specifically focusing on repo and swap dealer ecosystems. This role involves engaging with financial institutions, ensuring regulatory alignment, and acting as an internal expert on derivatives and market structure. Professionals with deep experience in traditional capital markets and a strong understanding of dealer balance sheets and regulatory capital should apply.
About the role
This role focuses on driving the adoption of USDC within capital markets, particularly in repo and swap dealer environments. The director will engage directly with key financial institutions such as swap dealers, primary dealers, FCMs, and clearinghouses, leading technical discussions and piloting new integrations. Success in this area means effectively moving pilot programs from design to live execution, coordinating closely with internal product and engineering teams.
A critical component of this position involves navigating the regulatory landscape. The director will partner with legal, compliance, and risk teams to ensure that all USDC integrations adhere to applicable derivatives and market regulations. This includes anticipating potential regulatory and risk concerns from counterparties and structuring use cases that are both scalable and defensible within the existing financial framework.
Beyond external engagement, the Business Development Director will serve as an internal authority on repo markets, dealer balance sheets, and the broader derivatives market structure. This involves advising senior leadership on how USDC can provide significant capital, liquidity, and operational advantages. The role requires a blend of deep industry knowledge, strategic negotiation skills, and the ability to translate complex financial concepts into actionable business strategies.
