Lead Product Designer, Sportsbook

About the role

This role focuses on leading the design efforts for the sports betting platform within Magic Eden's Dicey product. The designer will be responsible for translating complex protocol work and novel concepts into intuitive user experiences. This includes hands-on work creating user flows, wireframes, and high-fidelity prototypes, directly shaping the user interface for sports betting.

The Lead Product Designer will define and drive the overall product design strategy for the sports suite, ensuring alignment with business objectives and user needs. Collaboration with Product and Engineering leadership is key to aligning on roadmaps and prioritizing design efforts, aiming for a cohesive user experience across the platform. Success in this role means delivering engaging and intuitive designs that simplify complex concepts.

Beyond individual contributions, this position involves elevating the design team through mentorship. The lead designer will foster a culture of excellence by providing direct feedback, conducting design critiques, and sharing best practices. Establishing and refining design processes, such as reviews and user research, is also a responsibility, designed to empower the team in a fast-paced environment.

The annual salary for this role ranges from $36,000 to $48,000 USD.

• 7+ years of experience in product design, with a proven track record of operating at a senior level (e.g., Senior, Lead, or Principal) with experience mentoring other designers.
• A basic understanding of crypto is required. You should have a foundational grasp of the space (e.g., how wallets or transactions work) and a curiosity to learn how to design for decentralized platforms.
• A deep enthusiasm for sports. A genuine passion for sports betting or the mechanics of sports markets is highly desirable.
• A compelling portfolio showcasing both exceptional, recent hands-on design work and your ability to lead complex projects. Your portfolio should reflect a high degree of visual craft and strategic thinking.
• A builder mindset, with a track record of operating with autonomy and thriving in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
• Proven ability to lead projects that simplify highly complex concepts into delightfully simple and intuitive user experiences.
• Expert proficiency in Figma and other modern design and prototyping tools.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to articulate design decisions and build consensus from the team level to the executive level.
