About the role

This role focuses on leading a team of safety managers, specialists, and paramedics to maintain safe and smooth operations at a new logistics facility. The Lead Safety will ensure adherence to legal standards for occupational safety, health, fire protection, and environmental regulations. This includes advising management and employees, developing emergency protocols, and reporting on key safety metrics.

The position requires actively leading and mentoring team members, managing personnel planning, and fostering their professional growth. Success in this role involves creating evaluations and reports on safety performance, initiating preventative measures, and collaborating with management. The Lead Safety will also maintain relationships with external bodies like professional associations, authorities, and the company doctor.

A key aspect of the role is organizing essential training for first aiders, fire protection, and evacuation helpers. The Lead Safety acts as a central contact for cross-departmental projects and represents the safety department at important events, ensuring that safety considerations are integrated across the organization.

The full-time position offers a salary ranging from $33,750 to $56,250 USD.

• Responsible for the development and maintenance of emergency concepts and reporting systems.

• Successfully completed a technical degree or comparable training with a technician, engineering, or master’s degree.
• Qualification as a safety specialist (according to ASiG), safety engineer, and fire protection officer, along with three or more years of professional experience in safety/occupational safety.
• Knowledge in environmental management.
• Stay updated on developments in occupational and fire protection and be eager to obtain additional qualifications in HSE.
• Take full responsibility for your tasks and independently identify new challenges.
• Proactively develop ideas to optimize processes and strengthen our safety culture.
• Proficient in using software, apps, and web tools, with a desire to deepen knowledge in Google Workspace.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to convey knowledge understandably.
