Middle AQA Engineer

About the role

This Middle AQA Engineer role focuses on maintaining and evolving a portfolio of insurance products for a leading US provider. The engineer will assess current test coverage, design and implement automated test scenarios for new UI components and APIs, and maintain the existing Test Automation Framework. This work supports continuous improvement of product quality and development velocity.

The position involves integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines, primarily using Azure DevOps, and developing comprehensive test suites. Collaboration with development teams is key to ensuring new features are designed with testability in mind. The role also requires identifying gaps in current quality processes and proposing improvements.

The listed salary range for this full-time remote position is between $80,500 and $138,000 USD.

• Initially, assess existing test coverage and test strategy to align with evolving application workflows and new business requirements.
• Design, develop, and implement robust automated test scenarios for new UI components and APIs.
• Maintain and enhance our Test Automation Framework (TAF), leveraging Playwright (TypeScript).
• Integrate automated tests seamlessly into Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, primarily using Azure DevOps.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive end-to-end, integration, and regression test suites.
• Collaborate closely with development teams to ensure new features are designed and implemented with testability in mind.
• Proactively identify gaps in existing quality processes and propose innovative improvements.
• Communicate effectively with customers and stakeholders through various channels (email, messengers, calls) in English.

• 3+ years of hands-on experience in AQA/Test Automation roles.
• Strong test automation expertise, with a proven track record in building and maintaining robust Test Automation Frameworks using Playwright and TypeScript.
• Proficiency in SQL for database testing, query validation, and understanding data structures.
• Required familiarity with integrating automated testing within Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, especially with Azure DevOps, to enhance development velocity and product quality.
• Ability to define, collect, and analyze test metrics to monitor efficiency and effectiveness, and provide clear, actionable test reports to all stakeholders.
• Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, enabling seamless teamwork with cross-functional teams including Developers, Product Managers, and other key stakeholders.
• English proficiency of at least B2.
