Senior Specialist, Third Party Risk Management

About the role

This role focuses on enhancing Bitpanda's third-party risk management framework. The specialist will be responsible for continuous development of documentation, assessments, and tools used across the group. A key part of the work involves providing second-line review and challenge of third-party relationships, which includes helping to implement service level agreements, key risk indicators, and other monitoring mechanisms.

The position requires ensuring that third-party profiles and registers are consistently updated to meet regulatory requirements, specifically EBA and DORA. Adherence to the full third-party risk lifecycle, from initial identification and assessment through monitoring and exit planning, is crucial. The specialist will also support training initiatives for business partners on the framework, policies, and procedures.

Success in this role means effectively managing third-party risks in alignment with regulatory standards and industry best practices. This involves a proactive approach to risk identification, assessment, and mitigation, contributing to the overall security and compliance of Bitpanda's operations. The specialist will work within a global team, contributing to a platform that serves over 6 million customers.

The salary for this position ranges from $138,200 to $218,900 USD.

What you’ll do

• Continuous development of Bitpanda’s third-party risk management framework including, documentation, assessments, systems and tools implemented across the Group.
• Provide ‘second-line review and challenge of third parties with both internal and external counterparties, helping implement SLAs, KRIs and other monitoring.
• Ensure continuous updates to our third-party profile as well as registers in alignment with regulatory requirements (EBA, DORA).
• Ensure adherence of the Third–Party Risk lifecycle, from Identification and assessment to monitoring and exit planning.
• Support in trainings, as appropriate, to business partners on Third Party Risk Management framework, policies, standards, processes, procedures and alignment with interconnected processes.

Who you are

• Experience and knowledge and understanding of Third Party Risk Management including DORA, MaRisk, EBA Outsourcing, PRA SS2/21 and other regulatory equivalents.
• Experience in operating third party risk frameworks.
• Experience in managing third parties over the whole lifecycle, developing Service Level Agreements (SLA) aligned with regulatory guidelines and industry best practices.
• Excellent communication in German and English, proven ability to effectively interact with team members, clients and peers, earning their trust and establishing credibility.
• Minimum of 4+ years focused expertise in Third Party Risk and managing Outsourcing Services.
